The Rifle Team is a JROTC specialty team that fires daisy model 887 air rifles in competition against other rifle teams. The rifle team competes in matches against Hamilton County schools and other schools from Rhea County and Bradley County in league matches. The team also competes in Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) matches that can qualify the team for regional and national competitions. Competitions consist of three firing positions: prone, kneeling, and standing. The overall scores from the positions equal a maximum of 300 points. The members assist each other in areas that need improvement and create a bond like that of family. |
